Mpurnatu Experience
Description
You will visit the town of Campobello di Licata, you will discover its history and the taste of its traditional dishes.
It is a small agricultural center in the inland of Agrigento, which has been able to express the values of rural culture at high levels and in a transversal manner. Silvio Benedetto artistically expressed them in the murals of the City Hall and in the sculptures of the main squares.
In Campobello also several farms have carried on these values. Companies that today boast prestigious awards.
Our local guides will welcome us with an “historic” aperitif in the main square of the town, among stories and anecdotes from Campobello. From the foundation of the village until the Second World War.
At the premises of the La Madonnina restaurant, chef Giovanni Gruttad’Auria will prepare a lunch with local products and local recipes. We will also taste the typical Mpanata, a roll of pasta made with spinach.
In addition, we will taste the traditional baked pasta, lu Mpurnatu.
Our chef will introduce us to the goat’s cheeses of the Montalbo Farm, in a guided tasting accompanied by wines from the Baglio del Cristo of Campobello di Licata and from the extra virgin olive oil of the Lu Trappitu Olive Factory.
